Juniors questions
What is the difference between Recreation and Juniors?
Recreation is volunteer-parent coached with one practice and one game a week, focused on introductory participation and fun. Juniors is led by licensed professional club coaches, follows US Soccer's small-sided development curriculum, practices twice weekly, and plays 14–18 organized match festivals against regional academy clubs, the proper foundation for competitive soccer.
How do players get placed in Juniors?
Players attend an assessment session with our coaching staff and are placed into a training group based on developmental readiness. Any U7–U10 player can request an evaluation on a Monday or Wednesday at Ivey M. Redmon. Contact the Juniors Director with questions about placement.
Where and when does Juniors train?
Weekday training takes place at Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville on Mondays and Wednesdays. One Oak Ridge-based team also trains at Oak Ridge Heritage Farm Park, with more Oak Ridge teams coming. Weekend play stays close to home against neighbouring clubs in the Triad, Mebane, Efland and Concord.
Can my player also do ETA?
Yes. Many Juniors players add the Elite Technique Academy ($100 a month) at Phillips Park for one extra hour of footwork, 1v1 attacking and ball mastery each week. The first session is free.
What about uniforms and payment plans?
Official club uniform kits are purchased separately through our kit ordering portal upon team acceptance. Flexible payment plans, up to 9 monthly installments, are selected at checkout in PlayMetrics.
