Registration & payments
How do I register on PlayMetrics?
Head to Programs & Registration and follow the five steps: confirm your player's age group with Find My Age Group & Program, create your PlayMetrics account and verify your email, add each player, choose the program and pay, then sign the forms. For account help, contact support@playmetrics.com.
Which program is my player eligible for?
Use Find My Program. Enter a birth date and gender and it shows every eligible program with prices, practice nights and the right next step. North Carolina uses an August 1 – July 31 seasonal year.
What is the refund policy?
The initial payment securing a roster spot is non-refundable. Refund requests must be submitted in writing and are reviewed by the financial committee.
When are installments due?
Installments are due on the 15th of the month. If auto-draft fails, submit payment by the 30th. Players may be suspended from all privileges if payment is 15 or more days late.

Playing
How do tryouts and evaluations work?
Spring tryouts for the next season run early March through May, highest levels first, so no door closes early. Between windows, request an evaluation and a director coordinates a training-session look. Recreation needs no tryout.
What is the difference between Recreation and Juniors?
Recreation is volunteer-parent coached with one practice and one game a week. Juniors is led by licensed club coaches, practices twice a week at Ivey M. Redmon (Mondays and Wednesdays), and plays 14–18 match festivals a year. See the comparison.
Is ETA open to my player?
The Elite Technique Academy runs Fridays 5:30–6:30 pm at Phillips Park for boys and girls U7–U16 from any club, at every level, $100 a month, first session free. More days are being added as demand grows.
What happens in bad weather?
Field closures and weather alerts are broadcast through the PlayMetrics app and official team channels. Always check your team dashboard before traveling.
Where do I get uniforms?
Recreation uniforms are included with registration on a two-year cycle (Fall 2026 – Spring 2028). Competitive players order kit through the official Hummel team store during their team's ordering window. See Uniforms.
Financial aid
Is financial aid available?
Yes, on a limited basis for families who complete the Financial Aid Application and submit supporting documentation through PlayMetrics. Grant funding may also be available through Every Kid Sports for recreation players. See Financial Aid, Scholarships and the Play It Forward fund.
Glossary
NCYSA
North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, the state association that runs the Classic league and player registration.
Classic · N1 · CDL
Classic is NCYSA's statewide competitive league (divisions Red, Yellow, Blue, Maroon, Volt, Navy). N1 is the National 1 League for top U13–U19 teams. CDL is the Carolina Development League where our U11–U12 Pre-MLS and Pre-GA teams play; our U10 Pre-MLS and Pre-GA teams play NCYSA.
MLS NEXT · Homegrown · Academy Division
MLS NEXT is the national boys' platform. Homegrown is our top tier; Academy Division (AD) is the second tier where high school soccer is permitted.
GA · GA Aspire
The Girls Academy is the national girls' platform; GA Aspire is its second tier.
ETA · IDP
ETA is the Elite Technique Academy, our weekly technical hour. An IDP is an Individual Development Plan offered to competitive players.
Seasonal year
Age groups run August 1 – July 31 (a player born July 2016 and one born June 2017 are both U10 in 2026–27). MLS NEXT uses calendar-year ages, so a player can be one age group in NCYSA and another in MLS NEXT.
