Our history.
Carolina Core FC Youth carries the enduring heritage of soccer in the Piedmont Triad. Two community clubs founded in the early 1980s — one in Kernersville, one in High Point — built the Piedmont Triad Football Club together in 2005. Today it is the official youth club of Carolina Core FC.
Lineage
From the Alliance to the Core.
- 1983The Kernersville Soccer Association is formedKernersville's community club, and the reason Ivey M. Redmon and Bagley remain the club's Forsyth County home.
- 1984The High Point Soccer Association is formedHigh Point's community club, playing as the High Point Stars, and the Board of Directors that established the Senior Scholarship Awards for graduating players who excel on and off the field.
- 1991The Piedmont Soccer AllianceThe High Point Soccer Association took the name it carried for the next fourteen years.
- 2005The Piedmont Triad Football Club is foundedThe Piedmont Soccer Alliance and the Kernersville Soccer Association created PTFC together as an umbrella organisation for both clubs. Their programmes were fully merged in the years that followed.
- 2017Federal 501(c)(3) statusPTFC was recognised as a tax-exempt non-profit, the footing the club's scholarship and community work stands on today. Play It Forward
- February 2024Partnership with Carolina Core FCPTFC announced a partnership with Carolina Core FC, the MLS NEXT Pro club at Truist Point in High Point.
- Fall 2024Carolina Core FC YouthPTFC officially became Carolina Core FC Youth, the club's official youth side, creating a direct youth-to-pro pathway in North Carolina. The pathway
